Meet the team...Mary Davitt - Executive Director Mary joined the HBA team in August 2010 as Industrial Relations and Membership Services Manager and was appointed to the position of Executive Director in November 2010. Over the past 7 years, Mary has worked in a number of senior Human Resources Management positions for international companies both in Australia and overseas, predominantly in the Hospitality Industry. These roles have required Mary to assist Executive Committees with their queries in Human Resources, Performance Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Union Negotiations, Enterprise Bargaining, Awards and legislation interpretations, right through to providing formal representation in jurisdictions such as the Queensland and Australian Industrial Relations Commission (now Fair Work Australia) and the Anti-Discrimination Commission Queensland as well as representing the companies she has worked for in common law and civil disputes. Mary is also an experienced and qualified and certified Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator. Mary holds a Bachelor of Business through Southern Cross University and a Graduate Diploma in Industrial Law. She currently sits on the WRAPS Industry Advisory Council and is an appointed Fair Work Australia Industry Liaison Officer. Lillian Morgan Lillian commenced with HBA in September 2010 as Industrial Relations Administrator and has recently been promoted to Industrial Relations Officer. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge to HBA members. Lillian provides Members with advice and assistance on employment queries, including Award terms and conditions such as long service leave, wages, and other entitlements and has become expert in interpreting transitional provisions and applying them to the individual business needs of Members to ensure that our members employ their staff in the most cost effective but compliant manner. Lillian is also able to use utilise her studies in Human Resources to provide guidance on performance management and the process of managing staff. Lillian has recently graduated from the University of Technology Sydney with a Bachelor of Business majoring in Human Resources Management. Kavita Kumar Kavita has been assisting the Association in the role of Office Administrator since joining the Professional Hairdressers Association in 2006. Kavita is responsible for general office administration including the processing of all membership requests, accounts payable and accounts receivable and the administration of the HBA website and Member Logins. She also provides Members with general advice on upcoming events and matters affecting our Industry. Kavita has a background in business and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Gujarat University in Navsari, India. |
